Happy Vegan Day!

Did you know that today is World Vegan Day? Yep! And I just found out that one of my online buddies who is a full-fledged vegan did not know this. That amazes me! Not only is today World Vegan Day, but today also marks the start of World Vegan Month. I am no longer vegan or vegetarian at the moment, but I am definitely a “Veg-Friendly Gal” who still loves veggie foods and eats lots of them (usually). In honour of Vegan Day, I pledge to eat all vegan meals and snacks today. And to show my support of World Vegan Month I will have only one (if any) non-vegan meal a day for the entire month of November. What a great way to incorporate more veggies into your regular diet. It just makes good sense and you don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian to reap the benefits of eating plant-based foods. It’s all about smart choices!

It hasn’t even been six hours and I’ve already made a mistake on my commitment to eat only vegan today. I went to the grocery store to stock up on things I needed to make this a great vegan day and for the rest of my vegan meals and snacks for the next week or so. Well, I also bought some yoghurt, but by the time I got home I was famished. Not thinking, I ate some of the yoghurt. UGGGGGH!!! So, I will have to make tomorrow my “all vegan” day instead. That’s what I get for going grocery shopping on an empty stomach!
